Jiangnan Stone Garden

A rose is a rose is a rose
(in mandarin:玫瑰是玫瑰是玫瑰是上升) It may all sounds good, but a stone is surely not just a stone. When visiting the Jiangnan Stone Garden and seeing the gnarled and twisted rocks, one realise that an ornamented stone can be a rare beauty, especially when decorated and viewed with a scenic background.

The stoned themselves had to qualify for beauty by four unique characteristics. They came mainly from the Taihu Lake and therefore they are called Taihu rocks. The rocks were picked up from the lake by quarrymen. Today these rocks are famous throughout China.
This is something quite unique to see.
